According to field experience, the main causes include broken drill bit wings, replacing a drill bit with a larger diameter, machine displacement during drilling, falling rocks inside the hole, and poor dust discharge in muddy or fractured rock formations. Long drilling pauses without clearing rock powder can also bury the impactor and lead to severe sticking issues.
To solve the problem, operators should first identify the exact cause. In cases of broken drill bit wings or dropped alloy columns, recovery tools such as seamless pipes filled with grease or asphalt can be used to retrieve damaged parts after cleaning the hole. For serious stuck situations, additional torque and lifting assistance may be required while continuously supplying air to release the drilling tool gradually.
Proper operation, regular cleaning, and careful monitoring of geological conditions are essential to reduce the risk of stuck drilling and improve construction efficiency.
