The Swak Dam, the largest water conservancy and hydropower project under construction in Kenya, has reached a construction climax. XCMG's 13 road rollers have been put into operation, to help build the project.
As a key project of Kenya's 2030 Long-term Development Plan and the Four Development Goals, the Swak Dam integrates water supply, irrigation and power generation, with the hopes of more than 3 million Kenyans.
At present, the dam being built by XCMG road roller is 1.5 kilometers long and 82 meters high, with a total filling volume of about 12 million square meters. Stones and clay will build this high dam in the process of continuous compaction.
Large construction area and stone volume make the construction harder. XCMG XS263S large-tonnage road roller overcomes the difficulties with strong vibrating drum and extremely uniform compaction. With strong performance, the service life is up to 10000 hours.
In order to meet the compactness requirements of the dam clay, XS183S roller increases the pressure with convex roller to make the bonding more compact. The mini XMR083 light roller focuses on the plasticity of the aquiclude, supporting the high-quality construction of the dam with fine rolling, and will continue to contribute to on-site road paving.
From the first new railway in Kenya in a century to the construction of the Swak Dam, XCMG's complete road machinery has entered Africa in batches, demonstrating strong market competitiveness and gaining recognition and praise from many international customers. Taking advantage of the development of the "the Belt and Road" and relying on its technological and equipment advantages, XCMG will continue to create greater value for the green development of the world!2020-07-08
